1) If you want to take first-quarter calculus (Math 11, 30, or 35) at 91¶ÌÊÓƵ, then you must take the CRE unless:

• You have college credit for a course equivalent to Precalculus (MATH 9), or a score of 4 or 5 on the AP Precalculus exam.  In either case, you can register for calculus without taking the CRE. 
• You have a score of 3 on the AP Calculus AB exam.

2) If you have transfer credit, AP credit or IB credit for MATH 11, you do not need to take the CRE and can enroll in the sequel class.

3) If you plan to begin with Precalculus (MATH 9), you should still take the CRE.

• The results of the CRE highlight topics that may require extra attention from you in your precalculus class. 

4) If you don’t need to take calculus, then there’s no need to take the CRE.
