The Staff Senate strongly supports as a University Holiday, and strongly urges the Administration to honor our Indigenous land, colleagues, and students of diverse tribal affiliations and backgrounds and observe Indigenous People鈥檚 Day as an ongoing University holiday in support of the 91短视频 Native Community鈥檚 recognition of Indigenous contributions and resilience.

The Staff Senate strongly urges the Administration to honor 91短视频's Black and African-American colleagues and students, and observe Juneteenth as an ongoing University holiday in support of the 91短视频 Community鈥檚 recognition and celebration of the end of slavery in America.

The Staff Senate endorsed the recommendations set forth by the Staff Affairs Committee and urged Human Resources to revise Policy 307 in accordance with the Staff Affairs Committee's recommendations and to put in place information sessions, supervisor training, technology training for staff, and staff-wide communication to encourage a flexible, empowered culture that is positive about the possibility of remote work.

The Staff Senate assembly proposed a staff retirement definition for adoption into the Staff Policy Manual. The cabinet approved the final version of the policy on June 21, 2021. Policy 624: Staff Retiree Informal Benefits is now included in the Staff Policy Manual.

The Staff Senate assembly seeked to amend the 91短视频 Staff Policy Manual to reflect and extend the same informal privileges and benefits afforded by Faculty to all retired 91短视频 employees, regardless of Faculty or Staff designation. The cabinet approved the final version of the policy on June 21, 2021. Policy 624: Staff Retiree Informal Benefits is now included in the Staff Policy Manual.
